AmaZulu FC has been linked with Thabo Cele as the midfielder prepares to leave Kaizer Chiefs. The 29-year-old is set to depart Amakhosi after new coach Fernando da Cruz confirmed he is not part of his plans for the upcoming season. Cele, who joined Chiefs in January 2025, made 36 appearances without scoring or assisting.

What happened at Kaizer Chiefs?

Cele’s time at Chiefs ended abruptly after da Cruz took over. The midfielder was excluded from training sessions and is now training alone while both parties negotiate his exit. Chiefs have already signed Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko as a replacement.
