Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has set a new Premier Soccer League record with his blistering start to life at AmaZulu FC. The striker scored his eighth goal in just seven appearances for Usuthu, giving them the lead in their 1-0 win over Polokwane City last Saturday.
His early strike, coming in the fourth minute, was enough to secure three points and extend AmaZulu's winning run to three matches. The club now sits third in the Premier Soccer League with 16 points from seven games, just four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Ngwenya's goal came after just 4 minutes of work, a key factor in the victory.
Ngwenya himself acknowledged the achievement. "Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has made a record in the PSL with his eight goals out of seven matches for AmaZulu," the forward said.
His scoring form is the main reason for the team's strong early season position. The team will look to continue this form in their next fixture, an away match against Durban City on 16 October, as they aim to maintain their push near the top.
